According to some studies, 50% of all precautionary maintenance is futile. If the maintenance schedule is optimized, it does not only reduce the cost of the maintenance, but also improves the factory throughput. This paper aims to explore the possibilities of using modern mathematical methods for utilizing OEE measurement for achieving the best possible maintenance plan through the use of IIoT. This leads to a maintenance schedule which is dynamically adjusted rather than keeping the standard cyclical schedule.
