This course presents the basics of die technology, material science, and application. It begins with a review of basic die geometry and the importance of all geometric attributes and how these attributes affect drawing performance. Then it reviews the pros and cons of different die materials (carbides and ciamond). And finally it moves into the science behind draft profiling, including how pressure clearances should be determined for maximum drawing performance. This course familiarizes all participants with a wide array of die terminology, theory, and practical information.
